Pope Benedict XVI & Pope John Paul II The Great-A Reflection

Now, that another Christmas has been celebrated, as we remembered the birth of our Saviour our Lord Jesus. Let us now reflect on the year that will soon be coming to it's conclusion as we ready ourselves to embrace 2006.

Many commentators on different TV channels remembered what stood out for them from this year, unfortunately none of them remembered the death of our late and beloved Pope John Paul II nor the celebration we Catholics rejoiced in upon the election of Cardinal Ratzinger as our new Vicar of Christ.

There is more to life than remembering the economy, or reflecting on the life styles of the rich and famous or infamous as the case maybe. There is also much more to life than the dog eat dog world of politics.

So as we reflect on the year past and with rejoicing we remember the love and devotion which our beloved Pope John Paul II shared with us all and his legacy of fidelity to the Teachings of the Church and the Message of Christ, may he rest in the eternal peace of the Kingdom of Heaven.

Let us also pray for our Pontiff Pope Benedict XVI, who with great eloquence conveyed his love and deep respect for Pope John Paul II at his funeral Mass, for not only had the then Cardinal Ratzinger mourned the loss of the Pontiff but also his beloved friend.

May we keep our beloved Pope Benedict XVI in our prayers, that through his work may he be able to reach out to our separated brethren and restore to the body of The One True Church, the prodigal children who will once again be welcomed back to the warm embrace of the Catholic Church with filial love and thanksgiving to God.

Let us rejoice in that God has entrusted His faith filled people to a noble son of the Church, the capable hands of our beloved Papa, Pope Benedict XVI.

The Hail Holy Queen

Hail Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy, our life, our sweetness, and our hope. To you do we cry, poor banished children of Eve, to you do we send up our sighs –mourning and weeping in this valley of tears. Turn then, O most gracious advocate, your eyes of mercy towards us, and after this, our exile, show unto us the most blessed fruit of your womb, Jesus. O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary!

Amen.

Peace of Christ to ALL
